Hi everyone,I read this article about the recent earthquake in Nepal. It is really sad to see alot of people lose their lives unexpectedly. You can wonder how many years it takes to build a house and it is painful to see the building go down in a seconds. These means all we have been working for all this while can be lost in a seconds. The earthquake was really terrible,it will be difficult to give the accurate number of people that loss their lives during the earthquake. Some could sill be trapped down there in the buildings, unable to call for help.

Gender Bias

Hi everyone,I read an article about how gender bias pervades textbook worldwide.I think this has been going over the years. For example,in academic writing when the world ''men'' is used it generally means both male, and female but some kids may read an article that contains the word ''men'' and they may think it only means male. Moreover, some religious books such as the Holy Bible also contains the word ''sons'' and when some children or adult read this holy book they will think it only means sons.In addition, some people in Africa believes that women should not be doing hard jobs such as auto mechanics, truck drivers or construction jobs rather they should be doing jobs like marketing and sales jobs, accountant or bankers jobs. However, rewriting most of the textbooks used in schools will help to minimize the rate of gender bias in the world.

Preserving our memory

Hi everyone,I read an article about the ways one can prevent Alzheimer's disease which are socializing and doing creative activities such as painting, sewing, reading books.I think this new discovery would go a long way to reduce the rate of Alzheimer's disease in our society today.I believe all jobs really involve using your own brain.Although a lot of people are involve in one job or the other which they find to be boring; we should make our job fun,and try to think outside the box.It is good to try this way of life in order to stave the brain of Alzheimer's disease. In summary, all the message in this article is simply keeping the brain active.

The Right to Die Bill
http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2015/04/03/397257185/california-faith-groups-divided-over-right-to-die-bill?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=science
Hi friends, this article is about the right to die bill.In my won opinion I believe people should be given the right to make their own decision. If someone wants to die because of pains or fear of losing independency, then that's fine.It is better to be in peace than to be in pain and tears for an unknown period of time.Although some people may try opposing the bill because they don't know what it means to experience pain or depend on people totally for everything.God gave each one of us the power of choice, so we can decide what we want, and we are responsible for every decision we make in life.Hence whether someone choose to die or not,it is a choice.

Health benefits of cereal
http://rss.cnn.com/~r/rss/cnn_health/~3/clPtOrBiE1w/index.html
Hi everyone,I read an article about the health benefits of eating cereal.who would have imagine that cereal would be a meal that can prolong ones life.Although I usually take cereal but not every morning. However,I bought this cereal called ''roast flakes' which is full of sugar,I did not enjoy eating it,and I trashed the remaining cereal. Now that I have knowledge of its health benefits.I will start eating it every morning. Moreover,I will advice those who hate foods that contains high fiber to consider eating cereal because of some dreadful diseases such as cancers, inflammation and obesity.Additionally,if some of us can take bitter pills every morning due to illness then what stops us from taking cereal every day. Also think about this medical saying ''prevention is better than cure''.

Chelsea Elliot story

Hi friends!we all need to do something to add value to peoples lives by reaching out to the poor in our society.I read this article about the CNN hero,Chelsea Elliot who went blind in her left eye. Then, two years later, she lost hearing in her right ear.But right now she had launched a nonprofit organisation reaching out to children in poor communities. In the midst of the circumstances surrounding her,she could still change childrens lives. That's remarkable!.It is rare to find such kindhearted people in our society today.Sincerely, she deserve being a CNN hero.

Maternal Death

Hi everyone,I read this article about the rate at which women have lost their lives during child birth and it sounds alarming.I think women are also occupied with the whole house works such as cleaning, sweeping and cooking which could be very stressful. Moreover, the pain women go through child birth is beyond word description. In countries like Indian and Nigeria where the rate of maternal death are high, some certain measures should be put in place such as providing skilled attendants at birth, ensuring free maternal care for everybody and providing health care facilities in all the states. However, poverty rate in countries like Indian and Nigeria could also lead to child death during birth or maternal death.I could remember what happen to my friend in Nigeria;when she was in labour ready for child birth, her husband struggled to take her to a general hospital. When they got to the hospital, they were told that there is no bed so they can't take them in.Hence, the husband manage to get a taxi for the wife who was in pain but before they could get to another hospital due to the heavy traffic in the city of Lagos;the woman gave birth to a dead child inside the car. There are countless of stories of how women have either lost their child or their lives as a result of improper care.In addition, women should be given maternal health education both formal and informally on what to eat and do during the period of pregnancy.

The Risk of Hearing Loss
http://rss.cnn.com/~r/rss/cnn_health/~3/W7ZGmeec6Xg/index.html
Hi everyone,I read this article about how to listen to music in a safe way in order to protect your ear. What really caught my attention to read on was the statement in the article ''Once you lose your hearing, it won't come back''. I love listening to loud music but this piece of advice in this article will go a long way in changing my habit of listening to loud music. Most youth listen to loud music often despite the warning of its negative effect such as going deaf.I think educating the youth about the risk of loosing their hearing will go along way to minimize the rate at which many youth lost their hearing yearly.I could also imagine the pain most youth may be going through now or later as they age. However, they say ''prevention is better than cure''.Listening to music and turning down the volume is better than listening to loud music and end up suffering from tinnitus, an illness in which you hear noises, especially ringing in your ear.

While Indian's girls are aborted, brides are wanted.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/03/world/asia/india-freedom-project/index.html
Hi everyone,I read this article because I found the title ''While Indian's girls are aborted, brides are wanted'',so funny.I wonder why the Indian's northwestern states will keep on aborting innocent children.Meanwhile as I read through the lines of the article about a schoolteacher called Narinder, who could not find a bride because of two reasons;poverty and the outnumber of boys over girls.I think that he should have endured for a little while, work harder to make more money and move to another state in search of a bride; instead of contacting an agent to find him a bride from another state to help is family. On the other hand, most of these agents are involved in human trafficking.
Furthermore, the increase rate of crime such as rape and human trafficking in Indian is clearly as a result of women being outnumbered by men.The painful stories of young Indian girls like Jaida, Halida who were rape and the two sisters;Tasleema and Akhleema who were sold out at a tender age, should have prompted the Indian government to have a more strict law about aborting babies, especially in the northwestern states where it is common. In addition, the rate of illiteracy in the northwestern states could also be linked to the idea of aborting babies because of their gender differences.I think the idea of aborting babies because of their gender differences will soon be a thing of the past if we as human being choose to accept babies the way they are and as a gift from God and not for our selfish reasons.

Sleep Recession
http://rss.cnn.com/~r/rss/cnn_health/~3/GnYRIK8gz1U/index.html
I love the research work done in this article because I have always believe the fact that lack of sleep could be very harmful to the body. Sometimes we believe taking a nap could replace the night rest and sleep but it doesn't. Most of us with our busy schedules find it hard to get enough sleep at night, especially with many activities in our life. However,I need to prepare my schedules properly in order to have enough time for sleep. Additionally, I'm not ready to trade my sleep again for a couple of dollar.

She gave a stranger her kidney -- and fell in love 02:35

I was enraptured while reading this article. What really captured my attention was the selfless love that was demonstrated by Ashley to give a priceless gift to a stranger.Truly, they were destined to be together forever and their love will surely wax stronger because it has been proven that they were connected for life.It was touching, when Ashley said that.''She wish she had 50 kidneys to give to him''.I pray that God will feel their lives with joy and more happy days together.

Measles
http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/06/health/parents-messages-to-anti-vaxxers-measles-irpt/index.html
Commenting on this article, I would say life is all about taking chances. Some parents wouldn't want their children to take the vaccine for some certain reasons best known to them while some parents are ignorant of the vaccine. But,on the other hands considering the harm this disease might cause to families out there. For example, Lisa Vallejos's son (Gabriel) whose immune system can't fight off the weakened live virus in the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, which is the only vaccination he can't have throughout his lifetime, all because he his living with a donor heart. Also, there may be thousands of Gabriel out there, who are living with a donor heart with the fear of being caught up with measles. I think parents should put the public safety at heart, considering everybody out there to be Gabriel and prevent this disease from spreading by vaccinating their kids.
