Measles

http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/06/health/parents-messages-to-anti-vaxxers-measles-irpt/index.html

Commenting on this article, I would say life is all about taking chances. Some parents wouldn't want their children to take the vaccine for some certain reasons best known to them while some parents are ignorant of the vaccine. But,on the other hands considering the harm this disease might cause to families out there. For example, Lisa Vallejos's son (Gabriel) whose immune system can't fight off the weakened live virus in the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, which is the only vaccination he can't have throughout his lifetime, all because he his living with a donor heart. Also, there may be thousands of Gabriel out there, who are living with a donor heart with the fear of being caught up with measles. I think parents should put the public safety at heart, considering everybody out there to be Gabriel and prevent this disease from spreading by vaccinating their kids.

  1. It is a good thing that the mother took chances and put her son on transplant list .Now he is 8 years old living a normal life .It is always good to take chances when it comes to life maters. Its good she did not do the abortion which is one of the options of given.

  2. Life is all about taking risk, having faith and strong believe is one thing that keeps a lot of people going, same apply in the case of Vallejos's son, Gabriel. measles is not something to joke with. I saw on news a mother crying about the death of her daughter that was infected with the measles virus, A careless stubborn mother new that her son had the virus she took him to the neighborhood park where the little girl was infected and later died of measles. dough it may not be good for some kids like in the case of Emily West's son Brayden, who has allergic reactions to every vaccination shot he's received since he was young. Typical after Brayden gets a vaccine, he spikes a fever of 105 degrees and he is rushed to the hospital, In cases like this and many others, I think they should be an alternative to prevent being infected.

  4. the responsibility of the parents toward the children is always to take care of them. I was reading the article about the 3 different people who has a comment to offer about this case. It seems that in the majority of the cases, the answer was take the vaccine but, as a parent we really do not think about the others until things get us. For example: the people who read the article, think different now and not only about their personal child or kids. It looks that for sake of the rest of the world. However, there are a few isolated cases like in the second case in the article that defends a clear reason why not give the vaccine to her son. At the end, everything depends on the case and the decision of their parents.
