Hi everyone,I read this article because I found the title ''While Indian's girls are aborted, brides are wanted'',so funny.I wonder why the Indian's northwestern states will keep on aborting innocent children.Meanwhile as I read through the lines of the article about a schoolteacher called Narinder, who could not find a bride because of two reasons;poverty and the outnumber of boys over girls.I think that he should have endured for a little while, work harder to make more money and move to another state in search of a bride; instead of contacting an agent to find him a bride from another state to help is family. On the other hand, most of these agents are involved in human trafficking.

Furthermore, the increase rate of crime such as rape and human trafficking in Indian is clearly as a result of women being outnumbered by men.The painful stories of young Indian girls like Jaida, Halida who were rape and the two sisters;Tasleema and Akhleema who were sold out at a tender age, should have prompted the Indian government to have a more strict law about aborting babies, especially in the northwestern states where it is common. In addition, the rate of illiteracy in the northwestern states could also be linked to the idea of aborting babies because of their gender differences.I think the idea of aborting babies because of their gender differences will soon be a thing of the past if we as human being choose to accept babies the way they are and as a gift from God and not for our selfish reasons.

  1. This article is really interesting. How could Narinder think of marrying a woman and share the woman with his brother ? I think he should have the woman alone not to share with his brothers .Sharing a wife with his brothers will never make them happy . As for aborting babies do not make any good thing to them .

  2. Hi Chuks! Lovely article you have here. The vicious cycle of aborting girls, kidnapping women and selling off brides is something that has been going on for years. Thank God for people like Shafiq Khan a human rights activist who has a network of field workers visiting villages in Haryana state to find out about abuses and assist trafficked women in getting basic rights, and the two married sisters who didn’t allow the beatings and abuse they have gone through to discourage them. "Not even the village children talking to them like dogs," the sisters believe that with supports from other they all can overcome. The public outrage after the Delhi rape case has shown India's ability for self-criticism and the willingness of a significant part of its society to leave behind a deeply entrenched patriarchy.

  3. hey, it is not only in India, there are several problems mentioned in the article. the abortion of females is attributed some years ago in the Chinese nation where they rather the males. The human trafficking is a problem in all the countries around the world even U.S.A believe it or not. They only do it more opened in some areas around the world like the Philippines, too, The nations from the ex Russia Communist are famous for tracking of white girls to prostitute them. Also, Nations from some part of extremist Islamic Religion let this happened; I think was in Iraq country were they kidnapping a bunch of teenage girls from a school, they sell them and other rape them. It so scary how people with their old rooted culture like India, and some of the Islamic groups see this like as permissive use of women. They think on put the man above women, if you pay attention to the remarkable signs in all their societies. This is definately a great post to comment and show to others. thanks =)
